President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday paid a courtesy visit to the Oba of Lagos, His Royal Majesty Oba Rilwanu Babatunde Osuolale Aremu Akiolu, at the historic Iga Idunganran Palace in Isale-Eko, Lagos Island.
The president was warmly received at the palace grounds amid a significant security and media presence. During the visit, the monarch offered traditional blessings and prayers for the success of Tinubu and his administration.
Tinubu also appeared to be in high spirits during the visit, as he was filmed happily showing off some of his dance steps while a traditional drummer played to his delight.
A short video captures the president’s arrival at the palace, his interactions with those present and the lively moment as he danced to the traditional drumbeats. A formal photograph also shows Tinubu and the Oba seated in conversation, with the president dressed in black traditional attire and the monarch in white with distinctive red coral beads.
The visit highlights the continued engagement between the presidency and traditional institutions in Lagos, while the lighter moment with the traditional drummer added a lively touch to the president’s appearance at the palace.
