Learn From Jonathan Who Is Living His Life In Regret – TieTie Warns Tinubu

A lawyer, Frank TieTie, has urged the presidency and the Military to learn from the administration of Goodluck Jonathan, who, according to him, showed helplessness when a similar national security situation happened under his watch or Olusegun Obasanjo, who confronted any form of insecurity squarely.

CityNews reports that TieTie gave the warning during an appearance on Arise News.

TieTie said he perceives some signs of weakness from the presidency.

He said, “There are things that can be done which are not rocket science, yet little is being done about them while leaders continue to make reassuring statements.

“I would urge the President to look at recent history under former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former President Goodluck Jonathan.

“Obasanjo was firm and proactive in addressing insecurity, and there was a strong sense of state authority. People feared the Nigerian state because they believed there would be consequences for wrongdoing, and that sense of accountability was clearly present.

“And not only the military, the presidency should stop this unnecessary useless jingoism about condemnation about resolution, and doing nothing, I don’t want to be angry on national television.

“As President, learn from a president like Goodluck Jonathan, who is currently living his life in regrets, not exercising his powers as president, in deploying and fighting against insecurity, this president will also live in regret if he doesn’t fight insecurity in the next six months, do the things that are drastic, take drastic measures beyond all of these useless statements.

“First of all, let us have some practical, pragmatic state of emergency in several states across the country, where these governors have not only failed in providing security, but working against concerted efforts by the military or the federal government in providing security.

“Is this not Katsina state, a state government that sanctioned negotiation with bandits? Bandits who came to Katsina state wearing the uniform of the Commissioner of police that they killed?

“And this same state government could not manage to rescue a military general. The biggest problem is the normalcy that follows this shock. So what happens? Why can’t the president declare a state of emergency on this matter?”
