The Presidency has criticised former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over his proposal to restore petrol subsidy if elected president, describing the policy as “retrogressive” and fiscally unsustainable. Special Counsel to the imprisoned leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, Alloy Ejinakor has disclosed that the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration has withdrawn its cross-appeal seeking the mandatory death penalty against the pro-Biafra activist. Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has described the African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, as a voodoo economist. President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mr Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF), effective August 27, 2026. The appointment was disclosed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on his X platform on Wednesday. Former Ekiti State  Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has recalled an alleged conversation with Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, in which the latter reportedly promised not to work against President Bola Tinubu.
