Zamfara State Government says 35 suspected masterminds of the recent attacks of some rural communities in the state have been apprehended by the police in the state. A statement by the Commissioner for Information Ibrahim Dosara, said the suspected criminals comprisis of kidnappers, bandits’ informants and those aiding and abetting banditry in the state. Kano State government has directed all civil servants to resume work with immediate effect. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has kick started the process of decongesting polling units in Rivers State by increasing the number. This was made known by the resident electoral commissioner in the state Obo Effanga during to journalists in Port Harcourt, the state capital. Effanga said the exercise, part of a nationwide effort, will cover more than three million registered voters in the state which is expected to increase after the forthcoming voter registration exercise. The Katsina State Government has enrolled 320,000 persons in the formal sector programme of its contributory healthcare scheme. 53,241 vulnerable persons are also expected to be covered, under the Scheme.
