A 16-year-old girl (name witheld), on Wednesday appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing two phones and a laptop, worth N105,000 The police charged the minor for conspiracy, unlawful possession and theft, under Sections 411, 329 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015. The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges. One person was feared dead while scores of vehicles got burnt in a tanker explosion that occurred in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. The incident occurred around 8:15 am on Tuesday on the Presidential Boulevard around Guarantee Trust Bank opposite Lawson Group School, Kuto, Abeokuta. The explosion, which reportedly involved a 33,000 fuel-laden tanker, happened due to a brakes failure.
