#EndSARS: Abuja Magistrate Orders Police Investigation Of Aisha Yesufu, Davido, 48 Others

A chief magistrate in Abuja has ordered the police to investigate 50 people who were accused of championing the historic #EndSARS protests last month.
The police may start inviting the activists on the basis of the magistrate’s order.
A controversial lawyer had filed the charges seeking punishment against the activists, who included Aisha Yesufu, Davido, Deji Adeyanju, Sam Adeyemi, Ayo Sogunro and others.
Magistrate Omolola Akindele of Wuse Zone 6 Chief Magistrate’s Court asked Abuja police commissioner Bala Ciroma to investigate the activists.

The police were given two weeks to conclude their investigation into the criminal complaint against the activists, who also included Tiwa Savage, Feyikemi Abudu, Wizkid and Dipo Awojide.
The case has continued to draw public outrage since it was filed on Monday by an Abuja-based lawyer, Kenechukwu Okeke.
Already, some activists had filed a counter petition to the legal practitioners council seeking withdrawal of the lawyer’s licence to practice in Nigeria.
