Adebolu: I’m Committed To Boosting Sports At Grassroots Level

The Founder, Irede Foundation, a non-profit Organization, Hon. Hammed Adeniyi Adebolu has reiterated his desire and commitment towards the development of sports at the grassroots level.

Hon. Adebolu stated this when he received executive members of the State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) at his Oke Ilewo Office, Abeokuta.

Otherwise known as Sekere of Lagos, the Irede Foundation founder who acknowledged the importance of Sports to the social economic development of any nation especially in the area of job creation for the youths in the society, promised to partner with the association in the state to promote grassroots sports.

While appreciating the association for its various laudable programmes geared towards complementing efforts of the state government to develop sports in the state, Hon. Adebolu appealed to the executive members of the association to sustain the tempo, adding that the development of sports required concerted efforts of all.

Hon Adebolu promised to support the association to ensure the success of the forthcoming Valuejet SWAN Security cup competition slated for between First and 15th August, 2024.

“I want to sincerely appreciate your determination and zeal to ensure that sports in the state receive adequate attention through your reportage and various programmes, I will continue to do my best as a Youth to promote sports which over the years have remained a veritable weapon to reduce all forms of social vices in the society”.

Earlier, the Ogun State SWAN chairman, Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji, commended Hon. Adebolu for his philanthropic gesture towards empowering the youths.

Ogunsiji noted that his desire to invest in sports would eradicate social vices among the youths in the state.

The SWAN Chairman reaffirmed the readiness of the association in partnering the Ogun State government in the discovery of young and vibrant athletes that would replace the ageing ones.
