Minister of Works, David Umahi, has signed the nomination form of President Bola Tinubu for a second term, backing his 2027 re-election bid.

In a statement by his media aide, Francis Nwaze, Umahi said the move reflects a commitment to consolidating the administration’s achievements. He highlighted ongoing road construction and rehabilitation projects as central to economic growth.

Umahi said the government has laid a strong foundation for further development and that Tinubu is well positioned to complete key initiatives. He also urged Nigerians to support consistent leadership to achieve long-term national goals.

Earlier, lawmaker James Faleke obtained the APC expression of interest and nomination forms on behalf of the president in Abuja, signalling the start of the re-election process.

The forms, priced at N100 million, were issued by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has scheduled presidential and National Assembly elections for January 16, 2027, and governorship and state assembly polls for February 6, 2027.
