A Petrol Tanker explosion in Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State, has claimed people’s lives and property. The cause of the explosion could not be ascertained as the remains of the affected persons were still at the scene of the explosion. But an eye witness account along the Bida-Lapai road says, some of the petrol tankers and trailers, complained of spending several days in their vehicles without movement due to bad road. The tankers were said to be carrying Premium Motor Spirit, while the trailers were on the way to various destinations across the country.

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Special Weapons and Tactical Team (SWAT) will commence a training program on Humanitarian Laws, Police conduct in conflict situations, human rights standards, especially in the use of force and firearms, and arrest and detention on Monday, October 19, 2020. The selected personnel will undergo training at the Police Mobile Force Training Schools in Ila-Orangun Osun State and Ende Hills Nasarwa state.In a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer Frank Mba, the training is in partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross.
