The Federal Executive Council (FEC) yesterday approved the Finance Bill 2020 conceived to enhance incremental changes in the nation’s tax laws but assured Nigerians that there would be no fresh levy. A Lagos State High court on Wednesday (today) sentenced popular prophet and Sheperd-in-charge of CCC Global Genesis church, Prophet Israel Oladele Ogundipe to two-year imprisonment for defrauding an American based woman. The trial judge, Justice Olabisi Akinlade sentenced Prophet Oladele after she found him guilty of two count charges out of the seven he was charged with. Justice Akinlade in a judgment that lasted for about four hours sentenced the defendant, prophet Oladele to a year imprisonments for count two and four. The Delta State police command has arrested a man, Ame Edjeket, 41, for caging his wife in a room for four years and subjecting her to dehumanising conditions. The suspect allegedly impregnated her three times while she was in bondage at their home in the Orerokpe area of Delta State. The husband, who has eight children with the victim, was said to have fed her with only bread throughout her time in bondage and she was not allowed to shower or use the restroom. The Lagos State Government has announced a partial closure of the service lane inbound Maryland from the end of Gani Fawehinmi Park to the end of the Second Pedestrian Bridge, Ojota from Tuesday, November 17, 2020, for a period of six weeks in continuation of the reconstruction along Ikorodu Road.
