Figures released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC show that 404 Covid-19 patients have been discharged across Nigeria in the last 24 hours. This brings the total number of successfully treated cases to 60,737. Meanwhile, 180 new Covid-19 cases have been reported in 9 states in the last 24 hours as total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria rises to 64,516. The states with new Covid-19 cases include Lagos-74; Oyo-41; FCT-19; Kaduna-19; Bauchi-12; Ogun-7; Rivers-4; Cross River and Edo-2 each. Nigeria records 2 Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours with national death toll put at 1,162.

The Nigerian House of Representatives has queried the country’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for not recruiting over four hundred new staff as approved in the commission’s 2020 budget. This was part of the resolution of the House Committee on Financial Crimes, when the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, appeared before the committee for 2021 budget defence.
